Speak Nearby is an experimental fashion film that explores the tension and complexity of translation across languages, and the beauty in its imperfection.

Created to showcase the fashion designs of my dear friend Emily Nguyen, this collection invites viewers to dwell in tension, to appreciate the beauty of meaning slipping and shifting, and to experience the multiplicity that translation makes possible. A visual metaphor of fruit as language being peeled in its layers, ultimately changing its meaning as it is consumed.
